Holding my breath....

I'm holding my breath today for two reasons. First, thanks to Gustav my satellite internet keeps going out. If I can get this posted it will be a miracle!

Second, I am so nervous for Sarah Palin. Her big speech is tonight and I am rootin' for her to hit it out of the park! If you know me then you know I love politics. You also know that I'm not particularly a fan of John McCain. Huck was my man! But since JMac has chosen Sarah Palin I am sooo on board!!! I think what I love about her is that she is me. That may sound strange since obviously I am not the governor of Alaska nor am I running for VP. But think about it...she's a wife, she's a hockey mom (of 5, no less!), she has a disabled child, a pregnant teenage daughter and she still manages to have a very successful career. She hunts and fishes, snowmobiles and she fired the chef at the capitol because she didn't want her kids to get used to it. (Ok, I wouldn't have fired the chef!) She is so ordinary--just like me! I can really identify with her. I've been a working mom. My job wasn't as demanding as hers but I can relate. She's become my hero of sorts and everytime someone in the media has the gall to question whether she can be VP and still be a good mother I take it personally. I too have been criticized for working while having small children. But I've also been criticized for not living up to my potential by staying at home with my kids. If Sarah succeeds, I will feel vindicated.

I didn't really think I cared if a woman was ever elected. I certainly didn't want Hillary to be elected! But I see something in Sarah that is every woman. She represents me and all the women like me who struggle to live our lives on our own terms and not the way our society says we have to. So tonight, I will cheer her on and in so doing, I'm cheering on myself and you too.

I'm with you 100%, Lisa. I'm not hip on John McCain, but I LOVE Sarah Palin.

I'm watching her right now as a matter of fact.

Well said, Lisa! I thought she did an amazing job last night. I'm totally on board with that ticket now that she's on it...

Huck was my man, too! :(

I'm not a big politics person. I watch and read just enough to make an informed decision. However, I did watch Sarah Palin last night on TV and I do love her. My favorite part was watching what I assume were her children. Her daughter licking her hand to smooth the baby's hair....Priceless!

HEY

You know I am the least political in our family! But I so totally agree with you.
I knew I didn't want Hillary and most definetly not Barack and I didn't think that I cared either about a woman but I am just in awe of Sarah.... she is the talk of our school!!!

I truly believe that God has been protecting her all this time and I have such a peace about this election since she came on board. She is an amazing Christian woman and I believe the Lord is going to use her and that in a MIGHTY WAY! Go SARAH!!!!!!!!
